Happy New Year!
I just want to say congratulations. You have made it through another year full of 'ups and downs' and 'highs and lows'.
Do you have a New Year's Resolution? Mine is to be more 'me' and worry less about what others are thinking of me. This can be really difficult if you suffer with any diagnosis whether its a mental health diagnosis or a physical health diagnosis. The key is to be kind to yourself and remember you are not alone.
I was gifted many notebooks for Christmas. I will be using these as positive 'to do' lists but also as a way to remind myself I am doing something worthwhile which is to stay healthy. I will track what I'm eating, what I'm spending, in a 'not too controlling way' but use this as an affective way to manage my mood. I will also tick things off as I achieve my goals.
What are your aspirations for 2018? The start of the New Year gives one a chance to renew and refresh as well as reflect on what can be done differently.
I advise you to do away with the obligatory diets, fads and just focus on the small things. It might be a goal of learning a language, or getting in touch with old friends, however big or small, remember any small step is big progress in being kind to yourself.
